Inspire yourself with the story of Luana Strapasson, an award-winning photographer recognized by the Outstanding Maternity Award
Luana Strapasson currently resides in Cascavel, in the state of Paraná, Brazil. Luana recalls always loving to view, develop, and assemble photographs. When her children were born, this passion for the art became increasingly evident, sparking curiosity about images and a desire to learn more about this world.
She began her photography courses in Curitiba, Paraná. Luana feels a great sense of freedom and immense personal fulfillment when she sees the joy of her clients with the results of her work because there is a connection and a feeling of accomplishment.
I am always updating my studies and seeking many inspirations for my work. In 2018, I started my undergraduate course in Photography Technology, two years of college where I could dedicate myself even more, learn about the history of photography, art, semiotics, in addition to various practical experiences and a lot of exchange of ideas!

Family photography is the greatest achievement in her professional life. She has carved out her space in the job market, always preferring outdoor, lifestyle, and in-home newborn sessions. She has won several national awards, participated in a photo exhibition in her city, had some photos selected in an international portfolio, and her greatest joy was having two photographs awarded by the Outstanding Maternity Award
I recently discovered the Outstanding Maternity Award, and quickly realized that it is a highly coveted competition among photographers worldwide, featuring renowned photographers and inspiring photographs.
Luana shared with us that she had a pleasant surprise in the year 2021 when she was invited to become a photography teacher at the same university where she graduated – FAG (Fundação Assis Gurgacz University Center) in Cascavel, Paraná, Brazil.
It has been an incredible experience to share knowledge and continue learning with my students. Our classes are in person, and we have a wonderful structure. I teach subjects like Lifestyle Photography, Maternity, Birth, and Newborn. I aim to provide students with references in these areas of expertise, often using photos awarded by the Outstanding Maternity Award competition. This allows us to discuss, evaluate, and draw inspiration from captivating photographs.
For me, photography is much more than a profession, art, or expression; it is our ongoing history and that of others, a legacy! To photograph is also a way of loving. I am immensely grateful to the Outstanding Maternity Award for the recognition, the opportunity, and for dedicating themselves to something that makes a difference in the lives of so many photographers.
