When I look at Marta Ponsko, I see a photographer whose beauty and intelligence are as radiant as her constant good humour. 

She teaches with a perfection that seems almost magical, dedicating her time and passion to illuminate the journey of so many photographers eager to learn. Her videos are a delight of humour and wisdom, and she stands out as a perfect model, not only in her photos but in the way she inspires and engages everyone around her.

Marta Ponsko is a renowned portrait and maternity photographer, celebrated for her neon photography style that beautifully captures the essence of pregnancy. 

Her unique approach and unwavering dedication have established her as a respected mentor and speaker in the photography world.

Throughout her career, Marta has evolved from specializing in newborn photography to focusing on maternity and portrait work, offering invaluable guidance to photographers globally through her workshops and lectures. 

Known for her striking neon maternity portraits, Marta is also acknowledged for her expertise in lighting, business, and marketing. 

She has led over 100 workshops worldwide, including in the USA and China, and has collaborated with photographers from various countries. Her ability to clarify complex concepts has made her a sought-after speaker at conferences such as WPPI USA, the Family Portrait Congress in China, and similar events in Germany, Spain, Portugal, the UK, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Poland. Her students have received international photography awards. Marta’s Online Creative Maternity Photography Academy reflects her extensive teaching experience.

We are profoundly grateful for the wealth of experience she shared with us. Below are some of her essential tips:

Be Unique – Avoid submitting images that are replicas of other people’s work.

Technical Errors – Ensure that your images do not have unusual composition, lack of focus, poor lighting, or similar issues.

Styling / Posing – Remember, less is more. This photography competition focused on portraits, not on the quantity of flowers, toys, or fabrics. (Posing and facial expression are critical—this is not lifestyle photography where emotions play a key role, but rather stylized and posed studio portraits.)

Preparation for Internet Submission – Make sure to submit images at the correct size and free of any bands. Verify the file before sending it!
